I am a graduate of Animal Behavior College.  I have had 5 years of dog training experience under the supervision of NEADS, (National Education of Assistance Dogs Services).  Working with NEADS I trained puppies from age 8 weeks old until they were approximately 15 months old.  During the time I had these puppies, I trained them to assist the disabled. Socially, physically and mentally disabled.

These puppies learned many commands ranging from obedience, (sit, down, speak..) to task commands, (fetch, tug doors open and walk calmly alongside wheelchairs.)

Now I am teaching basic obedience classes as well as Intermediate classes.  Helping dog owners to train their dogs to behave appropriately.  Training dog owners how to have a dog as a family member without the owner losing the control of being the “leader of the pack”.

My training uses only positive reinforcement.  This means that I do not use force to get a dog to comply to a cue.  I use treats and lots of praise.

It has been my experience that the dogs respond much faster when being lead, or lured, into the behavior requested.  Making the training much more fun and interesting for the dog as well as the owner.  This method also has a higher success rate and less anxiety or defiance for the dog being worked with.

Keeping the session and environment as positive as possible is my main goal.  Helping your dog to feel at ease throughout the training also helps increase your dog’s desire to work.
